Book Proposal Workshop Opportunity
Led by Jennifer Regan-Lefebvre, Trinity College and Michael Ortiz, University of Rhode Island. This workshop is open to everyone, particularly scholars writing their first book proposal. The workshop opens with the basics of identifying a press, pitching a book, and navigating the publication process (approx. 30 minutes), followed by small-group discussion of proposals. Please bring a printed copy of a draft proposal. Participants are encouraged to pre-submit proposals: Jennifer and Mike Ortiz, University of Rhode Island, will offer written feedback on drafts submitted by September 25th, 2026.
Jennifer Regan-Lefebvre is the author of Imperial Wine: How the British made Wine’s New World (UCPress, 2024) and Cosmopolitan Nationalism in the British Empire (Palgrave, 2009) and Michael Ortiz has recently published his first book, Anti-Colonialism and the Crises of Interwar Fascism (Bloomsbury, 2023).
